21 days of hungering after God

We have been sensing God's stirring in our church. The Lord is giving placing in us a holy discontent for what we tend to call "normal." We want what only He can give. He is bringing people and resources together and we DON"T WANT TO MISS what He has in store. We'd love to have you join us in these next 21 days of prayer and fasting as we seek the heart of the Father in our lives and in our church.

The theme is Hunger & Thirst from Matthew 5:6. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they will be filled." We will begin on Sunday, March 19th and go through Saturday, April 8th.

Keys to fasting and praying!

  • GRATITUDE: Psalms 100:4 "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
  • REMEMBER: Psalms 143:5 "I remember the days of long ago;  I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done."
  • REQUEST: Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
  • EXPECTATION: Matthew 6:10 "your kingdom come, your will be done,  on earth as it is in heaven."

ways to fast

The idea is to use a physical means for a spiritual aim. To go without something and in place of that thing you find your sustenance and satisfaction in God. Don't just go without, go to God!

  • Normal Fast--not eating food and drinking only water for a period of time.
  • Partial Fast--skipping a 1 or 2 meals a day.
  • Liquid Fast--only drinking liquids
  • Sunrise to Sunset--abstaining from food while the sun is up
  • Other ways to fast include abstaining from TV, Movies, Social Media. Basically anything that you go to for comfort.

Please consult your doctor before a normal fast. It's best to first consider your options, make a plan, set a duration and pray about it.This is a no guilt journey. Don't make it about religion, make it about a deepening relationship with the Creator.
